A small bedroom can be a real nightmare; it only takes one or two things out of place to make it seem messy and overcrowded. It doesn't have to be this way though; there are plenty of things you can do to make the most of your space.
1. Make the most of space under the bed
No, we don't mean that you should shove everything under the bed to hide it! Take a look at beds which also have storage beneath them - whether that is a couple of drawers under a normal bed, or more storage under a taller bed. This space can be used to store clothing, bedding or anything else that needs a lot of space.
2. Use a bespoke fitted wardrobe
In a smaller bedroom it might seem counterintuitive to take up valuable space with a fitted wardrobe - but actually, having a bespoke, built-in wardrobe can mean that you have more space in the rest of the room. With a well designed fitted wardrobe the storage possibilities are endless; you can design your wardrobe to suit your specific needs, and could find that you don't need any other furniture in the room - except for a bed, obviously! Take a look at the options available on our site for some inspiration.
3. Use the Konmari method
One of the most popular non-fiction books of the last few years, The Life Changing Magic of Tidying details a method of sorting through all of your belongings, and getting rid of them if they do not bring you joy. As well as this, author Marie Kondo details ways to organise your clothes, and even how to fold them so as to make the most of the space you have. Adopting this method can be a great way of making your small bedroom feel more spacious and less cluttered.
